Hydrogen has potential as a clean fuel depending on how it is produced. If used as an alternative fuel in a fuel cell system, hydrogen recombines with oxygen and produces only water and electricity as byproducts. Hydrogen powered vehicles emit water vapor from their tailpipes instead of greenhouse gas emissions.
